1. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI)
issued after May 1, 2011 is required.
2. All animals must be free of infectious and
contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI(the statement is pre-printed
on the CVI). Animals appearing unhealthy upon arrival may not
enter the exhibition grounds.
3. An Animal Owner or Caretaker’s
Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship(VCPR) form must accompany each
animal, and must be presented upon arrival at the exhibition.
4. All equine animals must have tested
negative for EIAby
an official test within the 12 months prior to the opening date of
the exhibition. A copy of the official test results must accompany
each animal to its final destination. Foals less than 6 months of
age accompanied by a dam which meets the above requirements are
exempt from EIAtesting requirements. If the foal is
not accompanied by the dam, a copy of the dam’s test results
must accompany the foal to its final destination.
5. A current rabies vaccination administered
by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age
and older. All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all
rabies vaccinated equine animals must be accompanied by a rabies
vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be
included on the CVI. If a rabies vaccination certificate is
provided, the certificate must contain legible name and contact
information of the veterinarian who administered the vaccine and
the veterinarian’s signature. A copy of the rabies vaccination
certificate is acceptable.

• All stallions are to be tied with neck
rope as well as one rope on the halter (combination of 2 ropes)
for safety reasons
• All horses must remain on display until
9 p.m. Saturday unless released by the superintendent and/or
veterinarian.
• Walk your horse to the holding
(practice) ring.
• Use the enter gate and the exit gate
(west end of ring) during halter classes.
• Horses must be under control at all
times.
• You must exercise your horse in the
superintendent designated areas only at the designated times.
• Horses are not permitted in front of
barns or bleachers at any time.
• The Albion Area Fair Association is not
responsible for any loss or injury to the handlers, riders,
animals, spectators or property.
• Stalls and feed areas SHALL be CLEANED
by the exhibitor after the fair.
• NO “For Sale” signs or other
advertisements permitted.
• No one under the age of 18 shall be

performance classes in the Horse Show on Thursday and the Fun
Horse Show Classes on Friday.

HORSE SHOW RULES
Your entry number (tag) from Tuesday given
by your barn superintendent is YOUR TWO DAY HORSE SHOW NUMBER.
No other number will be given.

The Albion Area Fair Association is not
responsible for any loss or injury to the riders, animals,
spectators or property.
1. FAIR EXHIBITORS ONLY. MUST HAVE ANIMAL
IN BARNS. NO ENTRY FEES.
2. You may pre-register for classes by
mailing to Judy Parker. No entries will be taken after September
15, 2010 at 3 PM
3. BOOTS MUST BE WORN. Sneakers, sandals,
work boots, etc. prohibited. APPROVED riding boots required.
4. Riders 18 years old and under must wear
an ASTM or SEIapproved
protective headgear while riding or driving.
5. JUDGE’S DECISION IS FINAL AND MUST BE
ACCEPTED IN A SPORTSMANLIKE MANNER.
6. Horses MUST BE LED to and from show
arena, practice ring and barn.
7. YOU MUST DISMOUNT before leaving the
ring in timed events.
8. Animals should be under control at all
times! You must ride in the practice ring or areas designated by
committee. You may NOT ride around the fairgrounds, including
areas west of warm up area.
9. Animals will be ridden ONE time only per
class in timed events.
10. THE SHOW COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT
TO CHANGE, COMBINE, OR CANCEL ANY CLASSES DUE TO TIME OR WEATHER
CONDITIONS.
11. Please make tack and rider changes 2
classes before your class.
12. Tack changes will be limited to 4
minutes between classes.
13. Western Hats are optional in game
classes.
14. Entry Numbers ONLY will be paid, NOT
THE RIDER!
15. YOU MUST BE 18 YRS. OF AGE TO HANDLE
ANY STALLIONS ON FAIR GROUNDS.
16. Horses must be returned to the barns
immediately after show is completed.
17. Draft Horses may only compete in Draft
Horse classes and classes where only one horse is in the ring at
a time.
18. If your horse is known to kick, please
put a red ribbon in your horse’s tail.
19. Rider must announce own number to
announcer’s booth when entering show arena.
20. You will not be judged or given a time
if number is not in view! No exceptions!
21. Not responsible for mistakes.
Corrections must be made day of show.
22. Horses not allowed in front of barns or
bleachers at any time.
23. Horses MUST be judged on Wednesday to
participate in the Horse Show.

1. Teams will stay in holding area during
pull.
2. You may ride or walk, but you cannot
change in the middle of a pull. If you start to ride, you must
continue to ride on that weight.
3. In case of broken equipment and you need
help, you must unhitch and come back to the boat.
4. 3 passes will be called a pull. If you
make 3 passes on your first pull, you must come back for a 2nd
pull.
5. Distance to pull 27.5 feet.
6. Jumping off the boat is counted as a
pull.
7. All horses to be lead from the barn to
the arena.
8. Judge’s decision is final.
