SWINE

Entries accepted beginning August 1st.
RULES:
• Joint ownership considered to be as one owner in accordance with registration papers.
• Judging will be accomplished at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
• No exhibitor may enter more than two animals in any one class, except groups.
• ENTRY FEE OF $1.00 A HEAD, EXCEPT SOW AND LITTER CLASS WHICH IS $4.00 A PEN, MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY BLANK.
• No straw will be furnished. Straw MUST be used, no sawdust.
• Pens must be cleaned daily.
HEALTH RULES FOR SWINE

Pennsylvania Swine:
1.A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within the 30 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition is required.
2. All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI (the statement is pre-printed on the CVI). Animals appearing unhealthy upon arrival may not enter the exhibition grounds.
3. An Animal Owner or Caretaker’s Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) form must accopmany each animal, and must be presented upon arrival at the exhibition.
4. Individual official animal identification is required. Official ID includes:
• A form of offical ID (herd tattoo in combination with an ear notch; or a state issued metal ear tag; or an ISO-compliant Radio Frequency Identification tag; 
• A plastic stamped ear tag.
Out of State Swine:
1.A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within the 30 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition is required.
2. All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI (the statement is pre-printed on the CVI). Animals appearing unhealthy upon arrival may not enter the exhibition grounds.
3. An Animal Owner or Caretaker’s Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) form must accopmany each animal, and must be presented upon arrival at the exhibition.
4.Individual official animal identification is required. Official ID includes:
• A herd tattoo in combination with an ear notch 
• A state issued metal ear tag; or
• An ISO-compliant Radio Frequency Identification Tag 
5. Brucellosis Testing Requirements:
• No brucellosis test is required if the animal 
originates from a Validated Brucellosis-Free Swin Herd. If from a Validated Herd, the herd number and date of last test must be included on the CVI.
• If not originating from a Validated Herd, out of state swine must be negative to a brucellosis test within the 30 days prior to the opening of the 
exhibition, and the negative results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a copy of the test report.
6. Pseudorabies Testing Requirements:
• No pseudorabies test is required if the animal originates from a Qualified Pseudorabies-negative Swine Herd. A Qualified Pseudorabies-negative Herd shall not be construed to mean every swine herd from a Stage V state, but only those herds in compliance with individual herd testing plans. If from a Qualified Herd, the herd number and date of last test must be included on the CVI.
• If not originating from a Qualified Herd, out of state swine must be negative to a pseudorabies test within the 30 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition, and the negative results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a copy of the test report.

16. Produce of Dam: to consist of four animals of one sow, farrowed on or after January 1, 2008 $9, 6, 4, 3
17. Breeder Feeder Litter: to consist of one boar, one sow farrowed on or after January 1, 2009 $9, 6, 4, 3
18. Certified Litter Class: 2 or 3 animals farrowed after January 1, 2009; any sex, must be accompanied by certification affidavit from breed association that littermates were certified $9, 6, 4, 3
Section 2
Swine Market Class BARROW ONLY
1. Individual Barrow - lightweight (under 200 pounds) $9, 6, 4, 3
2. Individual Barrow - heavyweight (over 200 pounds) $9, 6, 4, 3

Section 2
Sow and Litter
Sow to be any purebred of any age. Litter to consist of six piglets (minimum) and can be purebred or crossbred. Piglets can be any sex and not over eight weeks old. Sow and litter are not eligible to compete in any other classes. All sows and litters will show in one class of competition, regardless of breed $25, 20, 15, 10
