This contest will be judged on poise, personality, appearance, knowledge of the Fair, Fair entry and quality of responses. Among other cash and prizes, the Fair Queen will receive a $200 U.S. Savings Bond from the Fair Board after competing in the State Fair convention. The Fair Queen will reign all five days of the Fair and will receive an all-expense paid trip to the State Fair Convention in Hershey. Both the queen and her court will receive gifts from the Fair Association and other sponsors.
FAIR QUEEN CONTEST QUALIFICATIONS
1. Be a female who is a U.S. citizen and a resident of Pennsylvania
2. Be at least age 16, but no older than 20 years of age as of June 1 of the year entering the local contest.
3. Have not been a former local Fair Queen winner, nor a former State Fair Queen
contestant.
4.?Not hold any other title for any commodity group or pageant.
5. Be single, have never been married, has not been pregnant nor given birth to a child.
6. Be of good moral character.
7. Be able to meet all commitments and dress code as set forth by the Fair Queen Committee.
8. Must have an entry in the Fair.
9. Must be a resident of the Northwestern School District.
10. Must be a graduate of, or presently attending, high school.
11. Required to attend each day of the Fair.
12. Must be willing to attend State Competition.
13. Must attend all outings leading up to the Fair.
14. Pregnancy during reign as Queen will result in forfeiture of the title.
Albion Area Junior Miss Competition
Requirements & Qualifications
1. Must be 12 years old and not over 15 years old by June 1st of the current competition year.
2. Include with the application a one-page autobiography, school appropriate wallet size photo and 75-word essay on “Why the Albion Area Fair is Important to my Community.”
3. Contestants will be judged on the best score out of 40 points. Possible 10 points for each category, as listed: • Written essay • Introduction of self • Poise and Posture and • Impromptu Questions.
4. Winner must attend the Fair and accompany the Queen and her court. You must be available for promotional advertising for the fair.
5. Contestants must have an entry in the Fair. It may be in any category.
6. The Winner must coordinate with the Queen and attend as many events as she can with the Queen. The Junior Miss must not attend any other events in which she is representing the Albion Area Fair without the permission of the Fair Queen Pageant Committee.
7. The Contestant must participate in all the outings that are scheduled by the committee.
8. The winner must never wear a formal or semi-formal gown. A knee length dress or suit must be worn with the crown and sash that were given to her at the crowning. No other crowns or sashes are permitted.
NO JEANS are permitted to be worn with the crown and sash, unless otherwise stated by the committee.
9. Violations of any of the rules could result in the loss of the
title.
The Fair Queen Pageant Committee will decide any executive decisions made in regards to rule violations. ALL rulings are FINAL.

ALL CONTESTANTS MUST USE BEST AVE. TO ENTER FAIRGROUNDS
RULES:
1. All pullers must wear shoes, helmet, shirt and long pants.
2. Pullers and track personnel, only, allowed in the pulling area.
3. Puller and track personnel only allowed on the track unless others are authorized, personally by superintendent.
4. Whenever the sled is pulled back to the starting line, the next driver has two minutes to hook up and start his pull, after the sled is set.
5. The number one puller will be the test puller and may take the pull if working condition of the sled is satisfactory, as determined by the track judges. He may then have the option to take a second pull in the third position and forfeit the first pull distance. If the sled needs adjustment, the first puller after each adjustment will pull as the first puller of the class. All decisions must be made
before the puller is unhooked from the sled. On any re-pulls caused by equipment malfunction, the puller will immediately
rehook. If the number one puller is disqualified on his test pull, he is still able to take a second pull (in the third position).
6. Once a puller drops out of the class, he may not re-enter the class.
7. Tractors can only be used in one class pull, drivers may compete in different classes on different tractors.
8. If the tractor touches lines or the sled hits the markers, the driver will be disqualified.
9. Puller may stop before the 25 foot marker and repull as long as they did not cross the side lines. Each puller will be given two attempts to start sled within 25 feet.
10. All tractors will be weighed and hitch height checked with the driver sitting on the seat, and with his/her helmet.
11. Front weight bar measured from center of rear axle forward may not exceed 84 inches. Rear weight bar and weights measured from center of rear axle backward may not exceed 18 inches. Tractor width including weights and bars may not exceed 4 feet, and must fit on the scales. All weights and bars must clear the scales to avoid damaging the equipment. If the tractor fails to clear
the scales (the weight bar or weights hit) you will be disqualified for the day or until the problem is rectified.
12. Weights may be moved from one place to another after weigh in as long as no more weight is added. Tractors will be confined to a line up area after crossing the scales. Any tractor leaving this area will be disqualified.
13. All weights must be safely secured to the tractor. No weights are permitted on seat or deck and can not be higher than the seat. Anything lost during the pull is cause for disqualification. If the front of the tractor tires are in the air when the flagman flags the tractor indicating the pull is over, and the contact with the ground causes an object to be lost; the puller will not be disqualified.
14. Top 3 tractors in each class must weigh out.
15. All pullers must start with a tight hitch. All tractors must have a stationary minimum 11/2 inch horizontal “D” ring or a horizontal hitch approved by the track official. No portion of the tractor may interfere with the weight transfer machine, chain or hook during the pull or while being hooked or unhooked.
16. Any tractors may shift gears without stopping during the pull.
17. No adjustments can be made as the tractor is pulling down the track.
18. All classes must have a tractor type seat with a back or aluminum with a 3 inch back and the seat must stay in position during the pull. The driver must remain in the seat, but not on the seat back, with one hand, full grasp (no finger tipping) on the wheel at all times and both feet remain straddling to the tractor or be disqualified.
19. Tractor puller must keep their machines under control at all times on and off the track as determined by the track judges. No excessive speed will be permitted on the grounds of the pull. There will be only one warning, the second time you will be told to load up and leave and your entry fee will not be refunded.
20. All tractors must have a hood, grill, seat and fenders suitable for protecting the driver; and all pulleys and belts must be covered, except the starter generator belt. If tractor is not equipped with the factory side shields then you must have a 1/8 inch solid shield or 3/16 aluminum secured on opposite side of cam to top of the block on modified and stock altered class tractors.
21. All tractors must have working brakes and working reverse. Stock altered may choose not to have working reverse, but then must unhook themselves.
22. Only four cycle tractors are permitted.
23. Exhaust may be altered to straight pipe, but must discharge vertically, at 90 degrees upward.
24. No dual wheels, tire chains, studded, ATV, mini sprints, 4x4 tractors, implements or webs are permitted.
25. Pump gas only, must meet .750 specific gravity. No alcohol fuels. No electric fuel pumps except in stock altered class. No
pressuretanks. No additives.
26. All tractors must have stock ignition.
27. Wheelie bars are required for your safety. Wheels must be 1 1/2 inches wide, minimum. Pads must be in a fixed position and 1 1/2 inches wide, minimum with a 3 square inch coverage minimum. Wheels or pads measured from trailing edge of the tire to the front edge of the wheel or pad must be 5 inches and no higher than 5 inches from the ground. Stock, modified and altered stock class tractors must have a kill switch and it must be in operation and easily accessible.
28. Fighting between pullers will be grounds for disqualification of all parties involved. Complaints
will be heard and ruled on in a reasonable manner. Any and all protests made to a rule violation by an individual (plaintiff) must be accompanied by a $100 fee which will be refunded to the plaintiff if the other person (defendant) is found to be in violation of any rule. If there is no violation of the rule, the money will be given to the defendant.
29. If the track official senses a violation or failure to comply with these rules, he may without the
posting of the $100 request that the tractor in question prove compliance to the rules. This may happen at any time.
30. No drinking of alcoholic beverages or use of illegal drugs will be permitted on the grounds of the event and no intoxicated or drug impaired driver will be permitted to pull.
31. Drivers may not smoke cigarettes, cigars or pipes while hooked to the weight transfer machine.
32. Registration closes 15 minutes before the pull is scheduled to begin. Drivers must arrive early, pick their classes and register. No changing of classes will be permitted after the pull begins.

4-WHEEL DRIVE PULLING CONTEST

ALL CONTESTANTS MUST USE BEST AVE. TO ENTER FAIRGROUNDS
RULES:
1. No alcohol or drugs permitted.
2. PULLER MUST HAVE:
A. PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AND INSURANCE
B. MUST BE STREET LEGAL
C. MUST HAVE VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
3. Open to any 4-wheel drive vehicle which is street legal on rubber tires, subject to inspection. If declared modified, not able to pull. Committee’s say is final.
4. Must have stock hitch or factory hitch, maximum 26 inches high, must be at extreme rear of bumper.
MUST?BE?SECURE, NO?FLOATING?HITCHES. Puller must provide hitch for 3-inch hook.
5. Vehicle will pull a progressive transfer sled.
6. Vehicle must remain within designated guidelines during pulling.
7. Distance of pull will be 125 feet.
8. Each vehilce will have one try to pull the required distance. In the event a vehicle fails to pull the required distance, vehicle will be placed in order of distance pulled.
9. Two vehilces must qualify to receive prizes.
10. Load must be started from a tight hitch.
NO?JERKING.
11. Driver’s window must be half-way up.
12. During pull, drivers MUST?keep hands, arms, and head in the truck at all times.
13. Must have stock gas tank, not in bed or cab of truck.
14. Must have windsheild clean of numbers. We assign the numbers.
15. If truck is declared modified by judges, it is not allowed to pull, and can only show. DECISION OF JUDGES IS FINAL. ALL TRUCKS WILL BE INSPECTED TO DETERMINE IF IT HAS BEEN MODIFIED.
16. Once weighed-in, drivers are not permitted to leave pulling area.
17. No front-mounted weights or spare tires permitted. If weight is needed, it must be in cargo area. No weight permitted in passenger area. No weights in cab area or engine compartment. No hanging weights permitted anywhere on truck.
18. No excessive spinning will be allowed, particularly after load cannot be moved. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES IS FINAL IN ALL MATTERS.
19. If damage is caused to vehicle and parts or fluids hit the track, it is cause for disqualification.
20. A driver will be eligible to drive only one vehicle in the contest.
21. All contestants will be assigned a number to display on vehicle.
22. Open exhaust allowed during pull only.
23. Suspension must be stock with the exception of lift kits or extra spring leaves. No blocks between frame and axle and no solid suspension with the exception of rubber snubbers so long as one inch of play remains.
24. Engine and drive train must be completely stock with one four barrel on stock intake allowed.
25. No excessive front bumpers (THIS WILL BE A JUDGE’S DECISION).
26. Vehicles will compete in the following weight classes:
a. Open Gas Stock Class
i. 5,000 lb. class
ii. 6,300 lb. class
b. Diesel Stock Class
i. 8,000 lb. class
c. 4,250 lb. class
d. 5,250 lb. class

Open Gas Stock Class Rules
1. Inspection tech will inspect vehicle prior to entering scale house.
2. Stock class can have one performance upgrade of the following:
a. Aluminum intake
b. Headers
c. Clamps on springs
d. Suspension blocks
e. Open element air cleaner
f. Traction bar
3. Stock trucks with more than one performance upgrade will move to the open class.
4. Any other modification not listed will move the truck into the open class. Inspection Tech makes the final decision.
5. Must have stock hitch or factory hitch, maximum 26 inches high. Hitch must be at extreme rear of the bumper. Must be secure and no floating hitches. Puller must provide a hitch for 3-inch hook. The hitch must bolt no further than rear plane of rear differential.
6. Stock snowplow frames allowed. No snowplow pump, motors or cylinders.
7. No dual tires
8. No trailered trucks.
Diesel Stock Class Rules
1. Must show proof of State inspection, registration and insurance.
2. Must have stock exhaust.
3. Must pull from rear bumper or Reese hitch
4. DOT?tires only. No cut tires. Dual tires allowed.
5. Diesel fuel only. No propane enhancers or injectors.
6. No changes of pulling vehicle from manufacture
original intentions.
7. Certified Tech will check diesel trucks prior to weighing

Antique Tractor Pull

Weigh-In 3 PM - 7 PM
1. Open to tractors 1960 and older.
2. Weights of the bolt-on type. Must be securely fastened to the manufacturer intended position. No weight brackets. No suitcase weights. Any lost parts shall be grounds for disqualification.
3. All tractors will be in stock condition as they came from the factory with no pulling enhancing modifications. Stock block and naturally aspirated (exception: tractors originally equipped from the factory with GM two-stroke diesel engines). Stock head, manifold, carburetor and air cleaner. Replacement manifolds are to be replacement parts accepted for that make and model tractor. Stock engine RPM. Engine parts not in parts books for that specific tractor cannot be used.
4. No racing or aviation gasoline octane booster permitted. Tractors must dynamometer on the fuel used during the pull.
5. All tires are to be no larger or smaller than two sizes over or under factory original. No cut tires, radial tires or chains.
6. Tractors will pull from factory original draw bar as measured at top of drawbar or at pull point, stationary in all directions, with a 18" maximum height and 22" minimum length from the center of the axle (6500 lb. Class and under). 20" maximum height and 25" minimum length (7000 lb. Class and over).
7. Factory clevis or shackle may be used, straight or twisted type with a minimum of 2-1/2" hole, bolted or pinned tightly with spacer to drawbar. Pull plate material will be allowed; material cannot be thinner than 3/4" and not thicker than 1-1/4". Plate must have a 2-1/2" hole with a 1" material thickness around the hole. The draw bar must remain inside the opening of the clevis. Any tractor pulling from the NON fixed draw bar (i.e. draft control, three-point hitch or two-point hitch) "Must secure the hitch is a locked position." All tractors without stationary hitches will pull Exhibition Only. TOP OF HITCH ADJUSTER CANNOT BE ABOVE CENTER LINE OF AXLE OR HUB. Except for factory mounts. “NO TOP LINK TO CENTER OF DRAW BAR” (ALSO CALLED THE DOUG RULE)
8. All tractors will be checked by the tech crew and could be subject to dynamometer and tachometer testing. All
decisions of the tech crew and or safety committee and track officials are final.
9. Track officials will stop the pull at any time they feel the tractor or driver is unsafe and or the front wheels have exceeded a height of 16".
10. No shifting of gears during the pull (including torque amplifiers).
11. Tech crew will determine if the driver is capable. Driver cannot be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Driver must remain seated. Driver must weigh-in tractor and may be subject to re-weighing after pulling.
12. Participants can be disqualified for being discourteous to other participants or to the officials.
13. Participants will have 3 minutes to get their tractors to the line upon notice of class line-up; or the line-up committee can disqualify them.
14. Appearance. Only parts in the parts book for that model of tractor are allowed. Seats must be stock or a replacement seat with stock mountings. Replacement alternators or straight exhaust pipes are allowed. Stock side shields allowed if factory equipped. Tractor and wheel weights will be to an acceptable width, not to exceed 8’6".

TRACTOR PULLING CONTEST

ALL TRACTORS MUST BE WEIGHED-IN PRIOR TO 11 A.M. NO EXCEPTIONS. CLASS A & B TRACTORS WEIGH IN EARLY, YOU WILL BE PULLING EARLY.
RULES:
1. No alcoholic beverages permitted.
2. Open to any farm-owned and operated tractor on rubber tires.
3. Tractor will pull from factory drawbar. No pulls from 3 point hitch! HITCHER MUST HAVE CLEAR ACCESS TO DRAWBAR!
4. Drawbar heights are as follows:
• Classes A, B & C will pull from factory drawbar not to exceed 18 inches in height as measured to the top of the drawbar.
• Classes D & E will pull from factory drawbar not to exceed 20 inches in height as measured to the top of the drawbar.
5. Tractor will pull a mudboat with cement blocks.
6. Distance of pull will be 20 feet.
7. Each tractor will have two trials to pull the load 20 feet. All second pulls will be started in the same designated spot. This spot will be determined by the judges. A driver must take his second pull in his normal rotation. In case a tractor fails to pull the load, the tractor will be placed in order of distance pulled.
8. ABSOLUTELY NO TRACTOR WILL BE WEIGHED-IN AFTER 11:00 A.M. THIS RULE WILL NOT BE WAIVED AT ANY TIME. WEIGH-IN EARLY!
9. Tractors will compete within the following weights:
Class A - Not to Exceed 5,000# Class D - Not to Exceed 12,500#
Class B - Not to Exceed 7,500# Class E - Not to exceed 15,000#
Class C - Not to Exceed 10,000#
10. Two tractors must qualify to receive prizes. Any tractor without competition may pull in the next heavier class.
11. The load must be started without jerking as each jerk will be counted as one try. DRIVER
MUST REMAIN SEATED AT ALL TIMES. Rocking the load will not be permitted. THE DECISION OF THE
JUDGE(S) IS FINAL AND IS NOT OPEN TO DISCUSSION. DISPLAYS OF UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE THE FAIRGROUNDS.
12. All weights such as concrete blocks, anvils, railroad irons, high lifts, log chains, etc. will be barred from the contest in the
interest of safety.
13. No excessive spinning will be allowed, particularly after the load cannot be moved. THE DECISION OF THE
JUDGE(S) IS FINAL AND IS NOT OPEN TO DISCUSSION. DISPLAYS OF UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE THE FAIRGROUNDS.
14. If there are less than four tractors to compete in any one event, second and third prize only will be given. If less than three, second only will be given.
15. The winner in each class may compete in the next higher class, pulling in last position.
16. The Fair Association will offer the following premiums: first prize of $50; second prize, $35; third prize, $25; fourth prize, $15; fifth prize, $10.
17. A driver may only drive one tractor in the contest.
18. No advance entries necessary.
19. In case of dispute on weight, the disputed winner must weigh out.
20. No weights may be moved after the contest begins.
21. All contestants will be assigned a number to be displayed on the tractor.
22. 4-wheel drive tractors not allowed. No dual wheels allowed.
23. All tractors must have functioning brakes
24. There will be a mandatory drivers’ meeting prior to the pull.
25. In the interest of safety, the only people permitted in the pulling area are commmittee members and pullers of the current class.
26. The Tractor Pull Committee reserves the right to render a decision on any circumstances that are not addressed in these rules, and to cancel any or all parts of the contest in the interest of safety.
27. Any leakage of fluid from any tractor can be cause for disqualification at the discretion of the committee.

LOG PULLING CONTEST

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. No alcoholic beverages permitted.
2. Horse and pony teams will compete separately.
3. Teams will be driven and hooked by one driver only.
4. There will be three field judges and one scorekeeper.
5. Four place rosettes, plus a teamster’s rosette (men and women) will be awarded.
6. Events will be judged on time, accuracy and horsemanship.
7. Scoring will be as follows:
A. Timed by stop watch from the time team steps over starting line until contestant stops on last log and notifies the scorer or timekeeper.
B. One point will be given for every one-eighth (1/8) inch from boundary line in court.
C. In case of a tie in time and points, it will be up to the field judge to make final decision.
8. Court will be 43-1/2 yards long, divided in three (3) equal parts with reference stakes at side of court. Court will be 14 feet wide.
9. Lowest score, that is a combination of points added to total elapsed time in seconds, wins.
10. 50 point penalty to each out of bounds.
11. Exhibtors and 4-Hers only compete for ribbons and trophies
12. Participant can only participate in one class.
