    The Sentimentals originated as a pit band for the Cambridge Springs Theater group. They have continued to entertain audiences all over the northwestern area since its creation in 1976.

    As the band began to make a name for themselves, the members voted to play music from the “Big Band Era.” Since the beginning, four local gentlemen from Albion have been part of the band. They included: Archie Bateman, Joe Funkhouser, Donald Hough and Ed Podoll.

    Throughout their history, this group has played at locations that include the Crawford County Steam and Gas Engine Society, the Dreamland Ballroom at Conneaut Lake Park and Rainbow Gardens. An extraordinary highlight for the band was when they played on stage for Bob Hope and the Bob Hope Show in 1983 at the Crawford County Fair.

    With countless hours devoted to entertaining audiences, this band has played for dances and concerts all over the northwestern area. In 2000, the band reorganized and the band changed its name to the Sentimentals.

    Current members of the group include, on the saxaphone, Vaughn McGregor; Paige McMinn, Dale Doctor and Kay Doctor. Playing the trumpet are Don Hough, Charlie Signorina and Marlene Spaid. Jonathon Helmreich plays the trombone, Vicki Muckinhaopi plays the keyboard and Craig Guiney beats the drums.
